Third EULAR Course on Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

The Course is aimed at 70 young rheumatologists (age less than 40 years) and has been designed to provide comprehensive, intensive training on various aspects of this disease.

The Course will consist of morning and afternoon sessions that will address the following topics:

  1. therapy of SLE, molecular basis of drug action and pharmacogenetics
  2. evaluation of SLE patients: disease activity, damage, quality of life
  3. renal involvement in SLE
  4. cutaneous involvement in SLE
  5. neurological involvement in SLE
  6. Particular aspects of the disease: gastrointestinal involvement, joint involvement, cardiopulmonary involvement, hematological manifestations, atherosclerosis, pregnancy, late onset SLE, juvenile SLE.

 

In addition each day will include a clinical exercise relating to the day’s topics. The course will be held at the cloister of S. Croce in Fossabanda, a beautiful complex built in 1300 and restored for the Jubilee of the year 2000 for use as a hotel.

Application: participants should forward their application by fax or e-mail to the Scientific Secretariat no later than June 30th, 2007. Applications should include a short CV (100-150 words), and a list of no more than 5 publications. Acceptance of the application will be notofied by e-mail within July 31st, 2007.

Fees: as only very limited numer of single rooms are available at the cloister, applicants will be mainly lodged in double rooms. Fees per person, including full board and all educational materials, are 1,100.00 euros (double rooms) and 1,250.00 euros (single room)
